How To Avoid The Guessing Game When Selling
Posted on | May 31, 2009 |
When preparing your home for the market, it’s important to ensure that you don’t leave the buyer “guessing.” Each room should have a defined purpose. The reason? While there are some buyers who can visualize the space on their own, most cannot. With some minor additions (perhaps by using what you already have), you can easily add definition; thereby increasing your chances of selling it more quickly.
Here’s an example of a room that we turned into a office:

Now here’s what this room looked like before it was professionally staged by HomeStagingAtlanta.com:

As you can see, the room lacked definition. The sellers, had they chosen to leave it this way, would have left the potential buyers confused as to the purpose. With the current market conditions being what they are, it’s important to give the prospective buyers every reason to be more interested in your home than another one around the corner.
