How home staging adds visual energy
While watching HGTV over the weekend, and more specifically one of their interior decorating shows, I caught a comment made by one of the decorators that spoke how the home he was working on lacked “visual energy.” I understood immediately what he meant. As a professional home stager serving the Atlanta area, I’ve visited hundreds of vacant homes that were void of anything but the painted walls and the flooring. As a result, there simply isn’t any visual energy or visual interest to help the prospective buyers connect with the home.
Here’s an example of a dining room that lacks visual energy:

Now here’s the same room with furniture and accessories brought in by Georgia Interior Solutions:

When the home was vacant, it lingered on the market for months. After being staged, the home sold within weeks.
